Chris Evans Says Anxiety Caused Him to Initially Turn Down Captain America Role
Chris Evans became a house hold name in 2011 when he starred in his biggest role as Captain America, in Captain America: The First Avenger, but little did we know that Chris had initially turned down the role due to anxiety.
It all started back in 2010 when filming his movie Puncture and Chris Evans was having mini panic attacks. Evans says, “I really started to think, 'I'm not sure if this [acting] is the right thing for me, I'm not sure if I'm feeling as healthy as I should be feeling.'
Chris Evans spoke on the Hollywood Reporter’s Award’s Chatter podcast about how he “struggled to cope with the ascending trajectory his career was taking” and just didn’t know how to manage it all. He went on to say, “All of a sudden your hobby becomes your job. Anxiety comes with that”.
